** Payment Terms **

Payment is due in full at vehicle pickup.

Support Local: We gladly accept credit cards, but if you’re "point hunting," we humbly suggest saving those swipes for the giant corporations—they can afford the bank fees much better than your local mechanic can! Choosing debit or cash ensures that 100% of your payment stays right here in a local small business. 😊

 ** SERVICE TERMS **

(1) "YES, DO THIS WORK" - I authorize the repair/service in the estimate or repair order and agree to pay the amount shown.

(2) "DEBIT, CASH, OR CREDIT" - Full payment is due at pickup by debit or cash; credit accepted, no checks.

(3) "NO PAYMENT, NO KEYS" - A mechanic's lien secures repair and storage charges on my vehicle.

(4) "TALK, TEXT OR EMAIL ME" - I authorize contact by SMS, phone, email or in person for estimates, approvals, invoices, and updates for this or future service.

(5) "GOODBYE OLD PARTS" - Unless requested before service, replaced parts will be discarded.

(6) "YOU MAY DRIVE & STORE MY CAR" - I authorize shop staff to move, store, and road test my vehicle as needed. If a road test is required, my vehicle must have registration, valid tags or permit and liability insurance, and I must provide proof if requested. If not, the shop may delay, suspend, or decline service. The shop is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of the vehicle or its contents.

(7) "48 HOURS OR LESS" - I will pick up my vehicle within 48 hours after completion notice or pay storage fees.

(8) "HERE'S MY SIGNATURE" - My signature confirms I understand and agree to these terms.

** Test Drive Policy **

Some services and diagnostic procedures require us to test drive a vehicle before, during, or after repairs. For safety, legal compliance, and insurance reasons, Luis Lopez Automotive will only test drive vehicles that have:

  • Current, valid vehicle registration

  • Valid registration tags or other current operating authorization

  • Current auto insurance

If a vehicle does not have valid registration, current tags, or active insurance, we may delay or decline service if the requested work or diagnosis may require a test drive.

Customers may email proof of current registration and insurance to hello@luislopezautomotive.com before the appointment or before repair authorization. If a vehicle needs temporary operating authorization, customers may review California DMV information, Click Here.

Luis Lopez Automotive may pause or decline service if required documentation is not received prior to a road test. All authorized work will be billed, and extended storage will result in additional charges.

** 24-Month / 24,000-Mile Limited Warranty **

At Luis Lopez Automotive, we stand behind our services with a 24-month or 24,000-mile limited warranty, whichever comes first. If a defect in our workmanship or a part we installed fails within this period, we will repair or replace it free of charge, including the labor for installation. To qualify for coverage, the vehicle must be returned to our shop at 2751 Fletcher Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90039 during regular business hours. All transportation or towing costs to return the vehicle to our facility are at the customer's expense.

This warranty is exclusive to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. It specifically excludes vehicles used for commercial purposes—such as ride-sharing (Uber/Lyft), delivery, or fleet services—which remain under our standard 12-month / 12,000-mile term. Coverage does not apply to items naturally subject to wear and tear, including but not limited to: brake pads and rotors, tires, wiper blades, light bulbs, filters, and fluids. Furthermore, damage resulting from neglect, misuse, or repairs tampered with by the owner or third parties is not covered. We do not cover or reimburse warranty work performed by other shops.

To the extent permitted by law, any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the period of this written warranty. We are not liable for incidental or consequential losses, such as lost time, income, or rental expenses.

** DISCLOSURES **

Hazardous Material (HazMat) Charge: Maintaining and repairing your car involves the use of chemicals and the generation of hazardous wastes hat must be stored, handled, managed, and disposed of in strict compliance with environmental regulations. This charge helps cover the costs associated with proper disposal, regulatory compliance, and safe handling of these materials. Therefore, a HazMat charge is listed on the appropriate service bill when the job or service requires it.

Prop. 65 Warning: “Breathing the air in this area or skin contact with petroleum products can expose you to chemicals including benzene, motor vehicle exhaust, and carbon monoxide, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Do not stay in this area longer than necessary. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov/vehicle-repair.”

Lead-Acid Battery Recycling Act of 2016: “This dealer is required by law to charge a nonrefundable $2.00 California battery fee and a refundable deposit for each lead-acid battery purchased. A credit of the same amount as the refundable deposit will be issued if a used lead-acid battery is returned at the time of purchase or up to 45 days later along with this dealer’s receipt”
